Are Coconut Cream Soaps good for oily skin?
Yes, our soaps are great for oily skin, and you can even customize them to be better for you! We strive for a balance between gentle cleansing and protective conditioning. When it comes to soap that’s good for oily skin, it’s all about the ratio of oils to lye, and the finishing touches you add. For oily skin, the first thing we can do is reduce the amount of conditioning oils. We do that when you choose “Oily” as your skin type when ordering a soap.
Plus, we can add special finishing touches to your soap to make it even better for oily skin. Extra kaolin clay, activated charcoal, and matcha green tea each increase your soap’s oil absorption, and have other benefits as well. The activated charcoal also provides gentle exfoliation, helping to refresh your skin. Matcha green tea is great for a deep, oil-free clean, longer-lasting sebum control, and even reducing inflammation and redness. If you want one of these powerful ingredients added to your soap, just use the drop-down menu that asks “Want a Finishing Touch?” Choose kaolin clay, activated charcoal, or matcha green tea for extra oil-control. Pro-tip: choosing activated charcoal gives you a dramatic swirl in your soap for free!
Finally, if you order our soap for oily skin, and it still isn’t working for you: contact us! Maybe you need even less conditioning oils, or 2% more charcoal. Maybe we should look into a functional fragrance or other skincare product for you. Whatever the issue is, we want to help make the best soap you’ve ever used – and keep your custom recipe on file, so we can keep making it for you.
